Kara’s One-Woman Show is BACK!
After an opening night standing ovation in May in Bayfield at Honest Dog Books, Dirty, Flirty, Thirty and Out of Work travelled to the Rinehart Theatre in Ashland, Wisconsin in July. That performance garnered Kara a stunning review from the Ashland Daily Press. This laugh-inducing and tear-jerking story of the highs and lows of pursuing a career in acting continues its journey along the south shore. It is going back to Bayfield, but this time at Big Top Chautauqua’s intimate venue, The Backstage, on Saturday October 11th.

From not getting a starring role in her kindergarten performance of The Three Little Pigs, to realizing she's been aged out of the industry at the ripe age of 30, Kara takes the audience through 20+ years of her life pursuing a career in acting with painful honesty, humour, anger and joy.
While Kara wasn't born and raised in Cornucopia and therefore can't claim the title of a true Corny Kid, she is fifth generation to the area and has spent half (give or take) of her life in these woods and on the sandy shores. After a painful failed attempt at securing a visa to stay in merry ole England after graduate school (which feels even more painful after the 2024 election), Kara found the south shore welcoming her back with open arms. Acting since the age of four, she is no stranger to the spotlight but this is her first solo stage performance.

“Her wording is otherworldly. Her words sung and spoke deeply. She could make the line, "1 plus 1 equals 2" spin in a different and wonderful way.”
“She needs to get this on the Moth Radio!”
“She has had quite the life experience already at her young age.”
